a blog from seedling
We're very proud of our New Zealand heritage at Seedling. It's where our ideas began to sprout, where our seeds were sown. After growing our company in Auckland for eight years, we moved our global headquarters to Los Angeles in 2015. We've been reinvigorated with creativity and inspiration as we've settled into the bustling colorful Arts District DTLA.
Los Angeles has shown us such love and support since we hung our hat here, just a little over one year ago. We were honored that Mayor Eric Garcetti not only attended our launch party last spring, but was the keynote speaker at the event. His speech that night encompassed the renaissance of downtown Los Angeles—the influx of emerging business, the rebirth of what is emerging one of the city's most exciting and popular neighborhoods.
On a recent trip to New Zealand for the Tripartite Economic Summit, Mayor Garcetti took time out of his schedule to spend an afternoon at the Seedling factory office in Auckland. He was treated to a tour of the facilities to see where we hand-pack our activity kits, spied concept sketches of upcoming products, and toured our showroom to see our range of activity kits and little gifts for kids.
It gives us great pride to show Mayor Garcetti not only how far we’ve come, (literally 6500 miles across the ocean), but where we came from. His interest in the roots of Seedling shows his level of commitment and investment the growing economic landscape of Los Angeles, of our future in Los Angeles. And for that, we’re grateful.
